Hamid Habib Zadah
Hamid Habib Zadah is one of the most remarkable musicians emerging from the Middle Eastern diaspora. A native of Herat, Afghanistan, he has already made his mark as a tabla virtuoso, in addition to his performances on the harmonium. A veteran of the Afghan and Turkmenistan music scenes, he has already gained a foothold in the American musical landscape. He has performed with bassist Alex Blake, pianist Burnett Thompson, and the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra after arriving stateside in 2021. He recently performed at the Summer in the City at Lincoln Center.
Hamid began his studies at the Agha Khan Music School in Herat, then the Afghanistan National Institute of Music in Kabul. Hamid is an avid swimmer and football player in his spare time. In his leisure time, he listens to music, swims and plays football.
Next up for Hamid is his collaboration with Alex Blake and Burnett Thompson on the American Rhapsody recording and concerts.
