His "extraordinary eclecticism" has led to performances with such diverse artists as Wynton Marsalis, Lou Reed, Billy Joel, the Maria Schneider Orchestra, Herbie Hancock, Christian McBride, Mike Pride, Kenny Barron, Darcy James Argue's Secret Society, Peter Evans, and Tyshawn Sorey.

She established the Music Tree of Boston while creating two new music therapy programs for visually impaired children at Perkins School for the Blind, and has served on the board of the Massachusetts Music Therapy Alliance as well as the New England Conservatory Alumni Council. She has performed on major stages in Boston, New York, Washington, DC, Vienna, Shanghai and Tanglewood. She is known for her adventurous improvisational output in addition to her orchestral work.

Together with Burnett Thompson, he celebrates 5 years of collaboration, including eclectic performances of Chinese traditional music, European Renaissance liturgical and folk melodies, and their own compositions. Burnett Thompson has allowed music to draw him into countless corners of the planet, from the mountains of Yunnan, China to the mews of London, cellars of Vienna, medinas of north Africa, and back to the alleys of Beijing. He is the founder and director of Piano Jazz DC, now in its 12th season.
